I have learned that being good at anything, sports, school or whatever, means devoting time, energy and effort. It also means making some difficult choices and scarifies. Becoming a world class figure skater meant long hours of practice while sometimes tolerating painful injures. It meant being totally exhausted sometimes and not being able to do all the things I wanted to do when I wanted to do them. But my dream came true. It took some talent, a fair share of luck, a good measure of persistence, but most of all it took a great deal of self-discipline.
Self-discipline is a self-acquired trait. It is not a quality that can be appropriated from the lives of others, nor can it be taught. It is an asset that must come from within by the excises of other power of choice.

The term self-discipline refers only to the power of thought, because all discipline of self must take place in the mind. You are where you are and what you are because of your thoughts and your thoughts are subject to your control, you can mold your thoufht to fit any circumstance, positive or negative. You can keep your mind trained on that which you desire and receive just that or you can feed on thought of things you do not desire and your thoughts will bring you that also.
