Many times asked that if there was only one qualify that could bring success, which one would that be? My answer is, First of all, there is no one quality. It is a combination. But if there was only one, I would say it would be persistence. Persistence is the bounce back ability. All successful people gained success because they persisted. Calvin Coolidge said:
Nothing will take the place of persistence. Talent will not. Nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not. Education will not. The world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and termination alone are omnipotent.
Talent will not compensate for persistence neither will genius not education. Persistence is omnipotent.
Persistence results from commitment and leads to termination. There is pleasure in endurance. Performers put in years of practice for a few seconds and minutes of performance.
Persistence is a decision. It is commitment to finish what you start. When we are exhausted, quitting looks good. But winners endure. Ask a winning athlete and he will tell you that he endures pain and finishes what he started. Lots of people who are failures began well but never fished anything. Persistence comes from purpose. Life without purpose is drifting. A person who has no purpose will never persevere and will never feel fulfilled.
