God does not choose the way people choose. People look on the outside. God looks on the heart. God found a man whom He could trust, a man who had proven he had be faithful when things were not going his way. God knew that if He could trust him to take care of sheep, He could trust him to take care of His people. When God promoted and brought him out of shepherds’ fields, He make up for all the years it looked as was losing out.
When God is ready to promote you, He does not take a vote. He does not check to see who likes you, who is for you, how popular you are. It is not a vote. It is an appointment. It is up to one person, not your boss, not your neighbors, not your critics, not your relatives. Promotion does not come from people. It come from the God. When it your time to be prompted, no person, no bad break, no disappointment and no enemy can stop you. God has the one and only vote. He has the final say.
Now wait worrying about not for you. Why would not these people give me credit? Other people cannot keep you from your destiny. They did not know you before you were formed in your mother’s womb. They did not lay out the plan for your life. They did not crown you with favor. They did not put seeds of greatness inside you. Quit focusing on who is not for you and start focusing on Who is for you. The Most High God, the Creator of the universe, the One who spoke worlds into existence in breathing in your direction. He has you in the palms of His hands. His plans for you are for good. His being for you is more than the world being against you.
